I wasn’t sure how this piece was going to turn out. I’ve been fond of sketching out my ideas these days but I didn’t for this 1. I made a similar piece in white with the holographic and loved it. A black version had to happen for sure! I was eager to start but not sure where so sure I just went for it. I did my sparkly technique for a black druzy look added some quartz, my latest crystal shopping find a beautiful grey aura geode and pearls. I mixed translucent and opaque colors and just poured. Slowly but surely this piece came to life! The light makes this piece dance in all the right angles. It’s both colorful and BLACK. Who could ask for anything more?? I didn’t add any silver or gold detailing because it didn’t need it. When I looked at this piece before the flood coat it just screamed complete.

As I poured the top coat I bathed in the moment of finishing up this piece. The fact that I started out nervous but ended up feeling so complete. It’s these moments I hold so close. This is the beautiful chaos I call my process I love so much. Sometimes I go in with a plan and sometimes just pouring is the plan. As I type this I have a heart on my table primed and it will be in the likeness of this piece. Now to name them both? IMG_8332
